Fr Varghese Paul's book "AVIRAT SHODH" (means 'search without end') gets Gujarati Sahitya Academy Award in the category of literary essays. "AVIRAT SHODH" is a collection of 21 essays. The book is published in 2011 by R. R. Sheth & Co., Ahmedabad-Mumbai and is priced at ` 70/= only.

A well know writer Dr Keshubhai Desai has written an inspiring and thought-provoking Preface to the book. He writes: "AVIRAT SHODH" ('eternal search') is man's destiny. It is a movement, a going away, to God. In the final analysis the meaningfulness of man's life consists in this eternal search, in the endless movement towards God... The author's personality is reflected in the book. There is a hidden message for a successful life in the book for the depressed persons of the 21st century."

The 21 essays in the book are divided into 5 sections: 1) Committed Life, 2) Formation of Life, 3) Women Empowerment, 4) Celebration of Love and 5) Values-based Life.
